Zhu Scalp Acupuncture Case Study - Treatment of visual field impairment after brain tumor resection
(Zhu's scalp acupuncture - brain tumor caused by visual impairment, after surgery)
After a fainting incident, a pituitary tumor was discovered, a tumor resection was successfully completed, and the patient’s right eye recovered successfully.
However, one-half of the patient’s left eye lacked sight, and after 3 months his condition did not improve.
So, patient began Scalp Acupuncture + Chinese medicine treatment.
Initial condition: waves of heat and sweating, fatigue, general weakness, slow words, low voice, sensitive to heat and cold, looked pale white.
Scalp needles: head-face area, Upper Jiao area, Lower Jiao area, VPF,
Body needles: GB20, BL1, EX-HN7, ST2, GB1, LI4, GB37, SI6, SJ8, LR4, GB34, HT5, LR3, ST36, SP6
Traditional Chinese medicine: Zhi Gan Cao Decoction, Wu Wei Zi, American Ginseng, Goji, Chuanxiong, Huang Qin, Chai Hu, Ye Jiao Teng
After multiple treatments, the patient’s field of vision steadily increased
During 17th treatment, patient’s field of vision was tested: left eye impaired vision shrunk by: 1/2 -> 1/4
Visual acuity is obtained from sufficient blood supply to the eyes, acupuncture can promote blood circulation, improve eye blood circulation.

A case of Zhu's Scalp Acupuncture in acute stage hemorrhagic stroke
- -The sooner treatment begins, the shorter recovery time is - -
- -Scalp acupuncture initiates the repair process, acupuncture plus Daoyin guides recovery- -
Third day after basal ganglia hemorrhage, we used Zhu’s scalp acupuncture: Needles plus Daoyin
On the first day, the patient could not move his lower left limbs or sit unsupported, when walking with support the left foot dragged on the ground.
On the second day of treatment the patient felt strength returning to his lower leg, could stand with some support.
On the third day of treatment, the patient could stand on his own, without support
Chronic hypertension is an important risk factor for spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage, and its incidence in Asians is higher than Westerners.
Studies have shown that acupuncture can reduce cerebral edemas, reduce brain damage, and promote circulation in the brain.
The process of rehabilitation for hemiplegia after stroke is: sitting -> standing -> steps -> walking
